The Arts Walk Alive In Apopka
Mural Madness: In March 2026, Apopka hosted its first-ever "Mural Madness" tournament, a live painting festival where artists competed for cash prizes while the public watched their progress in real-time.

The Apopka Murals Downtown Art Walk is a growing outdoor gallery designed to revitalize the city's historic core through vibrant public art. What began in 2023 as a collaboration between local businesses and artists has transformed blank alleyways into a destination for residents and tourists alike.
The Vision & History
The initiative was spearheaded by Luis Rivera, a local barber and founder of Apopka Murals, in partnership with the No Borders Art Competition. The mission is to "Paint It Forward," turning neglected public spaces into points of community pride. Since its launch, the project has installed over 20 murals throughout the downtown area, ranging from small local tributes to massive, life-sized displays.
What to See on the Walk
The art walk is primarily centered in the alleyway between Downtown Barbers and the McLeod Law Firm (near 36 E. Main St.), but several landmark pieces are scattered throughout the surrounding blocks:
The Artwalk Alley (38 E. Main St.): The densest concentration of art, featuring works like "Exploring the Cosmos of Creativity," "Spreading Wings," and "Afro Samurai."
"The Big Potato" (15 E. 5th St.): Located at Hall's On 5th, this mural pays homage to Apopka's agricultural roots.
"Seminole Wind" (124 E. 2nd St.): Found at the Creative Hub of Apopka, reflecting the area's indigenous heritage.
The Peacock Mural (72 E. Main St.): A striking piece by artist Jordan Jones located on the southern wall of Central Florida Tang Soo Do.
"Hello Apopka" (72 W. Main St.): A welcoming gateway mural that has become a popular spot for photos.
Featured Artists
The walk showcases a diverse lineup of talent, blending graffiti styles, realism, and abstract art:
Lemus: A Miami-born artist known for bold, urban-inspired colors.
Tiffany Paints: A muralist and tattoo artist whose work often features Florida "vibes" like oranges and nature.
Ric One: A Puerto Rican artist whose intricate designs are found across Central Florida.
Ridge Bonnick: A self-taught local artist who created "The Downtown Mural" at the Domino’s Pizza site.
