How MyApopka Ratings Work

At MyApopka, we believe our community knows best.

That’s why we don’t rely on just one website’s reviews. Instead, we combine feedback from the platforms Apopka residents use most — including Google, Facebook, and Yelp — to create a more balanced and fair picture of each business.

No single platform controls the narrative.

Each source contributes to the final score based on how widely it’s used locally and how meaningful its reviews tend to be. This helps reflect both broad visibility and true community sentiment.

Current platform weights: Google 80%, Facebook 10%, Yelp 10%.

Because Facebook uses a “Recommend / Not Recommend” system instead of star ratings, we convert its recommendation percentage into a 1–5 star equivalent so all platforms are measured consistently.

Our current model also applies confidence and recency factors: confidence increases with review volume (using targets of Google 80%, Facebook 10%, Yelp 10%), and recency reflects how recent the latest available review date returned by source platforms is.

If a platform has no review count, that platform contributes 0. If Yelp has a missing or invalid latest available review date returned by source platforms, a small fallback recency factor is used instead of treating it as fully current.

The result becomes:

⭐ MyApopka Stars — a familiar rating you instantly understand.

🛡️ MyApopka Trust Score (0–100) — a community confidence score built from multiple public sources, designed to make comparisons simple and transparent.

Why We Do It This Way

We created MyApopka to strengthen local trust, not complicate it.

By combining multiple platforms:

  • The community’s voice is amplified
  • Businesses are represented more fairly
  • No single review site dominates the story

We do not edit reviews.

We do not create ratings.

We do not hide how it works.

We simply standardize publicly available information so you can make confident local decisions.

Because when Apopka supports Apopka, everybody wins.
